Peelman Counseling and Consulting

Helping Individuals, Couples, & Organizations

A Supportive Hug

My Background

Committed to Helping People

My name is Armando Peelman and during my 20+ years in the Mental/Behavioral health field I worked as an administrator, director/manager, trainer, and mental health counselor. Eighteen of those years were spent in leadership positions responsible for program development and staff management (training, supervision, and development). While working in the mental health field, my job responsibilities included providing counseling (group, individual, family, career, and crisis), supporting, and assessing clients who range in age from 6 to 75, and their families.

Counseling Services:

I offer both individual and couples counseling services to adults, providing a safe and supportive environment to explore, understand, and overcome various life challenges. My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining elements from different therapeutic modalities to best suit your unique needs and goals. Some approaches utilized are:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps clients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. It is commonly used to treat a wide range of disorders, including phobias, addiction, depression, and anxiety.

Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-directed collaborative approach to psychotherapeutic change that is conducted through direct observation of clients' responses to a series of precisely constructed questions. It emphasizes positive and practical change.

Motivational Interviewing is a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
